Westfalia kassiert vierte Niederlage am Stück
Noel Surmann wollte gar nicht erst um den heißen Brei herumreden. "Das war heute in jeder Hinsicht zu wenig. Wir haben uns viel vorgenommen, konnten aber nichts von dem umsetzen", redete der Trainer des SV Westfalia Leer nach der 0:4 (0:4)-Niederlage beim TuS St. Arnold Klartext. Nachdem sich Westfalia in der ersten Halbzeit wie von allen guten Geistern verlassen präsentiert hatte, gelang es wenigstens in der zweiten Halbzeit, den eigenen Kasten sauerzuhalten. Das war aber nur ein schwacher Trost angesichts einer insgesamt desolaten Leistung.
Westfalias leise Hoffnung, sich durch ein Erfolgserlebnis ein wenig Luft zur Abstiegszone zu verschaffen, wurde schon in der siebten Minute durch den Treffer des St. Arnolders Eric Filinberg jäh zerstört. Nach dem frühzeitigen 0:1 fing sich Westfalia zwar wieder. Doch die Gegenwehr währte nur gut eine halbe Stunde. Carlos Hyneck (29.) sowie Roman Streitenberger mit seinem Doppelpack in der 36. und 45. Minute schraubten das Ergebnis auf 4:0 für den TuS St. Arnold, womit das Schicksal des SV Westfalia besiegelt war. Nach dem Seitenwechsel präsentierte sich Leer zumindest ergebnistechnisch besser. Das allerdings nur, weil sich der TuS St. Arnold darauf beschränkte, das Ergebnis zu verwalten.
Nach der Niederlage bemängelte Surmann ein grundsätzliches Problem: "Wir bekommen keinen Rhythmus in unser Spiel, weil wir von Woche zu Woche personell umstellen müssen. Am Ende fehlen die Körner, so können wir nicht bestehen." Westfalias Bemühungen richten sich jetzt darauf, die Spiele bis zur Winterpause einigermaßen schadlos zu überstehen. "Wir werden die Winterpause nutzen, um die Fehler zu analysieren. Dann werden wir uns neu aufstellen und müssen in jeder Hinsicht eine Schippe drauflegen. Denn so wird es nicht reichen.“
